Audio Productions

Below is a selection of audio segments that I researched, wrote, produced, mixed, and edited myself. From hard-hitting journalism to lighthearted, entertaining features, each piece reflects my passion for storytelling and my love of audio production.

Postpartum Depression in a Pandemic

This Alexis Mazurin Award-winning piece was produced during my time at BCIT. It was inspired by a close friend who had just become a new parent and was navigating the challenges of early motherhood, while also grappling with the isolation of being housebound during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Impact of Dallas Brodie’s Claims

This is my most recent piece. As someone who is committed to amplifying Indigenous voices, I was compelled to respond to Dallas Brodie’s claims about residential schools. I set out to challenge her misinformation by speaking directly with multiple Indigenous leaders and knowledge keepers. The resulting segment stands as a testament to the importance of truth-telling and responsible journalism.

There Would Be No City Without Sex Work

This piece was created for CKNW’s “Where We Live” series, where producers were asked to explore the histories, stories, and legacies that shaped Vancouver. I chose to take a more provocative approach by focusing on the West End, where, in the 1980s, the city restructured roadways in an effort to deter sex work. Despite its bold subject matter, the segment gained significant traction and sparked engaging conversations with listeners.

Happy Mother’s Day

This segment was inspired by, you guessed it, Mother’s Day. To mark the occasion, I wanted to explore why the day matters, not just through history, but through the personal stories of people reflecting on the impact their mothers had on their lives. The result was a mix of heartfelt anecdotes and a look at how Mother’s Day came to be.

Chicken Noodle Soup for the Soul

This was the very first piece I ever produced for radio. The assignment was to create a segment about what kept us sane during COVID, and for me, the answer was simple: cooking soup. I’m not exaggerating when I say I made chicken noodle soup nearly every three days during lockdown. The piece was well received, earning praise from both teachers and peers for its sound design and candid delivery.
