About Me

I’m Bianca Rego, a broadcaster with a serious love for compelling content. Whether it’s producing for radio, reporting live on-air, or creating multi-platform productions — you name it, I’m here for it. Come hell or high water, I make sure every project doesn’t just meet expectations, it exceeds them.

As Lead Producer of Mornings with Simi on 730 CKNW for over three years, I shaped stories that stuck with listeners. From breaking news to in-depth features, I thrived on uncovering the heart of a story and presenting it in ways that informed, inspired, and connected audiences across Canada. My work contributed to back-to-back Canadian Radio Awards for “Best On-Air Team” in a Major Market for News/Talk/Sports in 2023 and 2024, and helped grow listener share from 4.9 to 12.3 in just a few months.

I began my career in broadcasting as a Traffic Anchor at AM730, Vancouver’s only station dedicated to traffic updates. I transformed maps, cameras, and listener calls into live updates that were clear, engaging, and easy to follow — all while running the board independently. Listeners quickly made me a favourite, and I was even invited back for guest-hosting spots years later. This experience taught me to thrive under pressure, multitask seamlessly, and deliver precise information in real time — skills I carry into every live broadcast.

I’ve also enjoyed bringing a storytelling lens to podcasting as the host of BCIT’s Fireweed. I interviewed students, academics, and thought leaders from business and tech, developing thoughtful lines of questioning and scripts for each episode. Maintaining a professional yet approachable demeanour during interviews, script readings, and promotional content, I worked to create conversations that were engaging, informative, and reflective of resilience — just like fireweed, the podcast’s namesake.

I’m more than an editorial mind — I’m a full-service content creator. From producing and writing to audio editing and multi-platform storytelling, I bring curiosity, creativity, and a hands-on approach to every project. I have technical experience with Adobe Audition, Audacity, Burli, and Premiere Pro, and I regularly craft content for radio, digital, and social channels.

I’m especially passionate about amplifying voices that are often underrepresented, making sure stories that might otherwise go unheard reach the spotlight. Meaningful journalism, for me, isn’t just about reporting; it’s about creating space for communities and people who need to be seen and heard.

Detail-oriented, endlessly curious, and never afraid of a challenge, I thrive in fast-paced environments. Whether I’m pivoting on breaking news or coordinating multi-layered segments, I approach every project with energy, precision, and enthusiasm.

With years of experience in radio production, content creation, and audience engagement, I’m always seeking opportunities to craft narratives that spark conversation, foster connection, and leave a real impact.
